Urges contacting local pharmacies to find out where you can get the seasonal flu vaccine

State Senator Kevin Witkos said today that due to a shortage in the seasonal flu vaccine, the Farmington Valley Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) along with a number of area health districts have cancelled scheduled vaccination clinics. According to Sen. Witkos, the Farmington Valley VNA received only 1590 of the 4300 vaccines they ordered resulting in the shortage. Because of this Sen. Witkos is encouraging that anyone who was planning on visiting one of these clinics to contact their local pharmacies or their physician. CVS and other pharmacies around the state have received the vaccine and have been distributing it.
