Senator Kevin Witkos to Collect Retired U.S. Flags at Electronic Collection Day

Will provide replacement flags to the first 10 people who bring a flag to retire

State Senator Kevin Witkos, R-Canton, will be collecting retired American Flags on Saturday, June 20th at the Electronic Collection Day being held at the Torrington Area Water Pollution Control Facility located on Bogue Road in Harwinton. Sen. Witkos will be on hand from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., and will provide a replacement flag to the first 10 people who bring an old flag to be retired. All retired flags will be retired at a formal ceremony in October 2009 by the Torrington Elks Club for proper disposal.
