Statement from Senate Minority Leader John McKinney in Response to Today’s Democrat “Budget Update”

April 3, 2009

State Senate Minority Leader John McKinney (R-Fairfield):

“Instead of working in a bipartisan way to craft a responsible budget for the State of Connecticut, the Democrats have spent the past three months behind closed doors, crafting a partisan budget proposal that turns out to be nothing more than a political document.”

“Senator Williams confirmed today that he doesn’t plan to bring his budget proposal up for a vote, an obvious admission that he doesn’t even have enough votes to pass it. If he doesn’t take his own proposal seriously, how can he expect the people of Connecticut to?”
