Statement from Senator McKinney on the Judiciary Committee’s Vote to Kill Three Strikes and You’re Out

March 19, 2008

HARTFORD – Senate Minority Leader John McKinney’s (R-Fairfield) statement on today’s Judiciary Committee vote to kill a Republican three strikes and you’re out proposal:

“Regrettably, the Democratic majority has once again stood in the way of Governor Rell, Republican legislative leaders and the will of Connecticut citizens who believe three time violent offenders should go to jail for life. Despite continued opposition from the majority party, Senate Republicans will stand firm with Governor Rell to fight for and pass a true three strikes and you’re out law that will take dangerous repeat criminals off our streets.”
