Senator Roraback Appointed Chairman of Legislative Committee

December 8, 2006

State Senator Andrew Roraback (R-Goshen) has been named Senate Chairman of the General Assembly’s Regulation Review Committee for the next two years by Senate Republican Leader Louis C. DeLuca (R-Woodbury). This appointment makes Senator Roraback one of only two Republican legislators in the State of Connecticut who will be serving as a Committee Chairman over the next two years in the General Assembly. In addition, Senator Roraback was named Ranking Member of the Public Health Committee and will also serve on the Finance, Revenue, and Bonding Committee, the Judiciary Committee, and the Legislative Management Committee.

“I am honored to be entrusted with the responsibility to serve as Senate Chairman of the Regulation Review Committee and to take on additional responsibilities on other important committees,” said Senator Roraback. “I am especially excited to serve as Ranking Member of the Public Health Committee as there will certainly be a focus on expanding access to healthcare in Connecticut this upcoming legislative session. I look forward to holding a leadership position as we begin to fashion solutions to this critical problem for so many of Connecticut’s citizens.”

These appointments will take effect when the 2007 Legislative Session convenes on January 3rd, 2007.

Senator Roraback was recently re-elected to his 4th term representing the 30th District communities of Brookfield, Canaan, Cornwall, Goshen, Kent, Litchfield, Morris, New Milford, North Canaan, Salisbury, Sharon, Torrington, Warren, Washington, and Winchester.
