Senator Len Fasano, R-North Haven, has been named as a Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate Republican Caucus for the 2007-2008 legislative sessions by Senate Republican Leader Louis C. DeLuca.

“I want to thank Senator DeLuca, and the entire Senate Republican Caucus, for the opportunity to play a larger role in helping to advance our agenda. I expect the next two years to be busy ones. There are a lot of issues that are important to Connecticut citizens, and I am looking forward to the work ahead of us,” said Senator Fasano, who has been serving as an Assistant Minority Leader.

Senator Fasano will continue to serve as the leading, or ranking, member of the General Assembly’s Planning & Development Committee and as a ranking member of the Select Committee on Veterans’ Affairs. Also, he will continue to serve as a member of the legislature’s General Law Committee.

For the first time, Senator Fasano has been appointed to serve as a member of the legislature’s Public Health Committee which, among things, oversees matters relating to health, emergency medical services, nursing homes and the treatment of substance abuse.
