October 27, 2006

State Senator John A. Kissel (R-Enfield) has been appointed by Senate Republican Leader Louis C. DeLuca (R-Woodbury) to the Connecticut Student Loan Foundation’s (CSLF) Board of Directors. The CSLF is a non-profit agency created by State Statute in 1965 which administers, guarantees, and services student loans within the Federal Family Education Loan Program.

“I would first like to express my thanks to Senator DeLuca for this appointment, which gives me the opportunity to share ideas and work alongside the other experienced members of the CSLF Board of Directors,” said Senator Kissel who received both a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from the University of Connecticut.

“For over 40 years, the CSLF has helped give students the opportunity to receive post-secondary education. Ensuring that young men and women in Connecticut receive a college education is critical to the future health of our State and I am looking forward to working with the other members of the Board of Directors to see it happen.”

The CSLF is located at 525 Brook Street in Rocky Hill. Its Board of Directors consists of 13 members, appointed by various state officials including the Governor and several legislative leaders.

Senator Kissel is currently serving his seventh term representing the seventh district communities of East Granby, Enfield, Granby, Somers, Suffield, Windsor, and Windsor Locks.
