State Senator Len Fasano (R-34th) is pleased with the recent announcement that the Wallingford Symphony Society has been awarded a state grant of $3,687 by the Connecticut Commission on Culture and Tourism. The grant was part of $1.8 million awarded by the Commission as part of its Organization Support Program designed to help organizations advance their arts mission, improve or expand arts programs, and build community participation in the arts.

“I would like to congratulate the Wallingford Symphony Society for this award as well as for the wonderful entertainment they continue to provide to the people of Wallingford and throughout the district,” said Senator Fasano. “It is important that the state continue to demonstrate support for the arts not only with financial contributions but with promotion, as well. Organizations like the Wallingford Symphony provide culture to both adults and children and I am glad that their efforts were rewarded.”

Grant recipient organization were evaluated based on quality and artistic merit, community involvement, sound organization management, planning and evaluation practices, and fiscal responsibility. 154 non-profit organizations from all corners of Connecticut received grants when the announcement was made earlier this month.

Senator Fasano is serving his second term representing Wallingford, East Haven, and North Haven.
