State Senator John A. Kissel (R-Enfield) will serve as the commencement speaker at the Baran Institute of Technology’s graduation ceremony tomorrow, June 30th, which will be held at 4 PM in the Suffield High School Auditorium. Senator Kissel will be speaking to the graduating students about career development.

“I am looking forward to addressing the graduates tomorrow and would like to offer my congratulations to them on a job well done. I would also like to thank the Baran Institute of Technology for inviting me to give the commencement address,” said Senator Kissel. “The school’s expert training provides their students with the necessary skills to succeed in the current job market. Whether it’s working for an established business or opening up their own private shop, I am confident that these graduates will find success in their chosen field.”

Over 700 friends and family of the graduates are expected to attend tomorrow’s event. Among the other speakers at the ceremony will be Barbara Woosley, the Executive Director of the Baran Institute of Technology and Randy Minde, the school’s Vice President and Director of Operations.

The Baran Institute of Technology was founded in 1979 and offers hands-on training in two locations, a 17,000 square foot facility in Windsor Locks and a new 315,000 square foot facility in East Windsor. It offers students a choice of eight different degree programs including automotive technology, electrical technology, and welding technology.

Senator Kissel is a Deputy Minority Leader. He is currently in his seventh term representing the communities of East Granby, Enfield, Granby, Somers, Suffield, Windsor, and Windsor Locks.
