Senator Fasano Committee Assignments Announced

December 15, 2004

Will Serve as Ranking Member on Planning and Development and Newly Created
Veterans’ Affairs Committee

State Senator Len Fasano (R-East Haven) was re-appointed as Ranking Member on the General Assembly’s Committee on Planning and Development by Senate Minority Leader Lou DeLuca
(R-Woodbury). Senator Fasano was named Ranking Member on the newly created Select Committee on Veterans’ Affairs, as well. He will also serve on the powerful budget-writing Appropriations Committee in addition to the Committee on General Law and the Program Review Committee.

“I appreciate Senator DeLuca appointing me to these influential committees. Serving on Appropriations is a heavy responsibility and one that I am embracing,” said Senator Fasano. “It is no secret that balancing the budget is perhaps the most difficult challenge we face as legislators each session. I am looking forward to working with Republicans and Democrats to keep state spending in check.”

Senator Fasano is also excited about continuing his work on Planning and Development, which has cognizance over matters related to urban renewal, planning and zoning, and the state plan of conservation and development. The Senator is also pleased with the formation of the Veterans’ Affairs Committee as it will allow him the opportunity to better pursue legislation helping those who have served our country.
“We need to remember the sacrifices veterans have made for our freedoms and push for legislation that will properly honor their commitment,” added Senator Fasano.
