Senator Fasano Announces Funding for North Haven and Wallingford

June 25, 2004

State Senator Len Fasano (R-34 th ) is pleased to announce that the State Bond Commission today approved significant funding for projects in both Wallingford and North Haven.

North Haven was awarded $1.3 million to help with upgrades to a wastewater treatment plant and an additional $75,000 to help construct a skate park at The Pines Park. Wallingford got $500,000 to assist with various improvements to recreation and athletic fields at Sheehan High Schools. The town also is moving forward with Phase II of the Quinnipiac River Linear Trail thanks to a $150,000 state grant.

“I am always happy when I can help secure funds for local projects, but when those projects are for children in the area, it’s even better,” said Senator Fasano. “I am a big proponent of youth athletic programs, so it’s great that the state and local municipalities are cooperating to upgrade the facilities in Wallingford and build the skate park in North Haven.”

The Sheehan High School project consists of the construction of a new synthetic turf football/soccer field within the track oval.
