May 25, 2004

Senator John A. Kissel, R-Enfield, welcomes students from five area towns involved in the region’s Vocational Agricultural Program on the next edition of ” Senator Kissel and Friends.” Among his guests are Michele Longhi and Kelli Sobinski of Enfield, Tyler August of Granby, Amanda Morris of Windsor Locks, Emily Leveille of North Granby and Cassandra Pease of Suffield. This episode will be shown throughout most of the month of June.

“Senator Kissel & Friends” is shown on Cox Cable Channel 15 on Mondays at 9:30 p.m.

“This is going to be a very interesting show,” said Sen. Kissel. “We will be discussing many topics including the students’ experiences in the Vo-Ag program as well as events of the Future Farmers of America (FFA), and the upcoming state convention of the FFA to be held in Suffield on June 5th. These students have so much to offer and their enthusiasm for agricultural issues is tremendous.”
According to Senator Kissel, there are 19 regional Vocational-Agricultural centers across the state. Earlier this year some of the students attended Ag-Day at the state capitol. All the students have recently participated in statewide contests ranging from AG-Business to the Envirothon to Horse judging.
