Senator Kissel Announces Funding for Windsor Locks

September 27, 2002

State Senator John A. Kissel (R-Enfield) would like to announce that the State Bond Commission today approved funding to help Windsor Locks develop a state certified computer assisted mass appraisal system, including the training of municipal personnel in assessment and tax collection practices. Municipalities that have implemented revaluation during the years 1987-1996, inclusive, are eligible for funding on the basis of population.

“By using the most recent technology and software, I am confident that the town’s tax collection will function more efficiently,” said Senator Kissel, who serves as ranking member on the General Assembly’s Judiciary Committee. “Today’s grant will also help ease the transition of the town’s municipal workers onto this new system.”

The State Bond Commission, chaired by Governor John Rowland, holds their monthly meetings at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford, Connecticut.
