Sen. Seminara Hosts Crime Policy Talk Featuring Canton & Avon Police Chiefs, Elected Officials

June 19, 2024

AVON – Sen. Lisa Seminara on June 18 hosted a “Crime Roundtable” discussion at the Avon Senior Center which featured high ranking officials in law enforcement, criminal justice, and public policy.

Dozens of area residents attended the discussion and posed questions to the panel on ways to address the root causes of crime.

“I thank the community as well as my distinguished guests for participating in this engaging and solution-based forum,” Sen. Seminara said. “We must constantly be looking for ways to make our communities safer as well as ways to support our dedicated law enforcement professionals. These discussions generate common sense ideas which can eventually become laws here in Connecticut. It was an honor to host this forum, and clearly there is a desire from area residents for more of these respectful, welcoming and productive events.”

The forum was covered by the Connecticut Network, CT-N.
