The Battle of Normandy Led to Victory

June 6, 2018

D-Day three

It was the largest amphibious invasion in history. D-Day, the day thousands of US, Canadian, and British troops landed on the beaches of Normandy, took months of planning. It included a disinformation campaign to keep the German armies from learning the Allies true plans. It even included ensuring the phases of the moon, the tides, and the time of day gave soldiers an optimal advantage.

The historic battle that day is believed to have turned the tide of WWII in the Allies favor. The soldiers who fought, many of them dying on those beaches, made great sacrifices for our freedoms. Let us never forget what happened this day and honor those members of the Greatest Generation, who gave us so much.

Thank you
