Senator Martin Memorial Day Message

Today, we honor those brave men and women who gave their lives defending our nation and our freedoms. It is because of their sacrifice that we enjoy so many freedoms.

Our nation was founded on the belief that all men are created equal and that each of us is endowed with the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It is because of their belief in the idea of what America is, and what it could be, that our service men and women pledge their lives so that the American idea can continue.

On this day, we offer our most profound thanks to the fallen and their families. We must never forget the sacrifices they made for us.
