Good News – Fare Hikes Canceled!

May 17, 2018

Connecticut taxpayers are already seeing the benefits of the legislature’s work during the 2018 session. As a result of the bipartisan budget, bus and train fare increases and service reductions that were scheduled for July 1st have been canceled.

As the Co-Chairman of the Finance Committee I am happy to see that Connecticut families and businesses are already experiencing the positive results of this budget, especially in regards to transportation.

The transportation portion of the budget fully funded the Special Transportation Fund resulting in surpluses in the fund in each of the next five years, allowing us to invest in infrastructure and cancel fare hikes.

This is good news for Connecticut!
