An Update from the Capitol

May 4, 2018

Business continues at a maddeningly slow pace at the State Capitol. Last night, over my no vote, the Senate passed a bill requiring employers of more than 25 people to provide sexual harassment training. Although I certainly share the goal of reducing sexual harassment in the workplace, this is another mandate that opens up businesses to liability. This bill didn’t strike me as the best way to go about addressing the problem given Connecticut’s already frightful business environment. We are going back into session today and tomorrow. Expect more updates before adjournment next Wednesday.
