Safety Improvement Project on Route 49 in Stonington, North Stonington and Voluntown

The Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced that a safety improvement project will be performed on Route 49 in Stonington, North Stonington and Voluntown – starting Monday, April 9th.

The project consists of installing a guide rail on Route 49 and is scheduled to conclude Friday, May 4th.

LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION

Motorists can expect lane closures to occur on Route 49 from Route 2 at Liberty Street in Stonington through a section of North Stonington to the beginning of the overlap of Route 165 in Voluntown.

State traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. – Monday through Friday.

Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this vicinity.
