Terrific Turnout at the State Capitol Today!

March 8, 2018

Education 2018-03-08 SB359 Public Hearing (1 of 43)

More than 100 people attended and Education Committee public hearing at the Legislative Office Building today. They were here to support Bill 359, which will prohibit CT public schools from compiling a so-called “Asian Registry.”

Their message: CT government should not mandate that Asian-Pacific American students register their ancestral nation of origin or ethnic background. Such a mandate would be an invasion of privacy.

As someone whose family escaped a communist country, I know what it’s like to have something in your family background that affects how others may look at you.

Thank you to Lin Yang, a Chinese-American from Woodbridge, for organizing today’s terrific turnout.

I urge you to join us in speaking out.

  1. Send a brief email to [email protected] saying “YES” to Bill 359.
