Danbury – State Senator Michael McLachlan (R-24) recently met with students from Westside Middle School Academy and reviewed their science fair projects.  Ten projects from the school were chosen to compete in the 70th annual Connecticut Science and Engineering Fair at Quinnipiac University.

“It’s easy to see why these students projects were chosen to compete at the state level,” Sen. McLachlan said. “These were very sophisticated projects that these students put a lot of time and thought into. From computer programs about Lyme disease to what kind of wind turbine blade is best for creating electricity in urban areas, to think that this is the work of middle school students shows the quality of education at Westside.”

Sen. McLachlan represents the communities of Bethel, Danbury, New Fairfield, and Sherman.
