Senator Martin Participates in Read Across America Day

State Sen. Henri Martin reads (what book) to (what grade) students at South Side Elementary School.

Bristol – State Senator Henri Martin (R-31) shared a story with South Side Elementary School students as part of Read Across America Day on March 2.

“With all the video games and electronic ways we have to entertain ourselves today, it has never been more important to show children the simple pleasure of reading a book,” Sen. Martin said. “We know that children who are read to do better in school than those who don’t. It is the one of the few things than that anyone at any socioeconomic level can do to help improve a child’s ability to learn.”

Sen. Martin represents the communities of Bristol, Harwinton, Plainfield, Plymouth, and Thomaston.
