Danbury rail

Tell Commissioner Redeker what you think about proposed fare increases and service reductions!

I encourage you to join me and other members of the Danbury delegation for a special State Transportation Forum on Monday, March 5. This is your opportunity to tell Department of Transportation (DOT) Commissioner James Redeker that the state’s plan for the Danbury and Waterbury service lies is unacceptable.

WHAT: Danbury Transportation Forum
WHEN: March 5th, 2018 7:00pm-8:30pm
WHERE: Danbury City Hall, Council Chambers at 155 Deer Hill Avenue in Danbury

In January, Commissioner Redeker proposed increasing rail and bus fares by a total of 21.28 over the next three years. At the same time, he has advocated for dramatically reducing rail service on the Danbury and Waterbury lines.

Add to this the Governor suspending more than $4 billion in transportation improvement and safety projects, and his proposals to bring back tolls, increase the gas tax by 7 cents, and hit you with a $3 fee for every new tire you buy. It certainly doesn’t seem like Connecticut commuters and taxpayers are getting anything in return for giving the state millions of dollars.

If you can’t make it, or have questions about this or any other state matter, feel free to contact me at (860) 240-8800 or email me at [email protected].

Thank you,
