Let’s Put an End to State Employee Pensions Over $100,000

February 1, 2018

A recent Hartford Courant article stated that nearly 1,400 state employee retirees receive a pension in excess of $100,000. At least one pensioner is receiving more than $300,000 year.

How is this allowed to happen?

The state has been facing year after year of budget deficits. Continuing to pay overly generous pensions is going to bankrupt our state.

Connecticut residents have a median household income of $73,000. I think limiting state employee pensions to $100,000 a year seems pretty reasonable.

Paying Connecticut retirees more than $100,000 is not something the state and taxpayers can afford.
