Continue making your voices heard…on the heating oil tax.

September 5, 2017

I thank the many of you who have been speaking out against the proposed state tax on heating oil and propane.

Please watch and share the video of my testimony from last week’s public hearing in Torrington:http://ctsenaterepublicans.com/2017/08/watch-sen-markleys-comments-in-opposition-to-a-ct-heating-oil-tax/#.Wa7bnoKotjo

The Channel 3 story on the hearing can be found here: http://ctsenaterepublicans.com/2017/08/watch-the-ch-3-story-markley-a-ct-heating-oil-tax-will-open-the-floodgates/#.Wa7b64Kotjo

I urge you to continue contacting your legislators to let them know your opposition to this tax.

Contact your State Senator and State Representative  – www.cga.ct.gov/asp/menu/cgafindleg.asp – as well as others who represent the town where you live.

You might also consider sending a letter to your local newspaper.

Email a brief comment to DEEP.EnergyBureau@ct.gov saying “I OPPOSE a new tax on CT heating oil!”

Copy me on the email at Joe.Markley@cga.ct.gov.

Include your name and town.

The remaining public hearings on the heating oil tax proposal are:

  • 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sep. 6 at DEEP headquarters in Hartford
  • 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sep. 7 at CT Agricultural Experiment Station in New Haven

Thank you!
