Bristol/Plainville Legislators Ask Residents to Tell Governor: No New Taxes for Bristol Hospital

September 12, 2017

Dear neighbor,

Members of the General Assembly’s Bristol/Plainville Delegation recently spoke out against a proposed increase in the state’s hospital tax. We believe an increase could cripple small, community health centers like Bristol Hospital and would have a devastating impact on patients and the community.

Today, we release our House and Senate Republican budget proposal which would not increase taxes on hospitals. You  can read it here.

But we still need your help. In an article from the Bristol Press, Bristol Hospital CEO Kurt Barwis encourages people to write state leaders to express opposition to this egregious tax increase. We are asking you to do the same, so that legislators know the Democrat proposal is the wrong one for Connecticut.

A tax increase on our state’s hospital will only further the financial collapse our state is facing. We must all say “No more!”
