August 29, 2017

Roadwork Ahead

Today the Connecticut Department of Transportation announced there will be an additional lane reduction implemented on the Gold Star Bridge on I-95 southbound in Groton and New London to facilitate ongoing construction and bridge repairs. The project is slated to start on Tuesday, September 5th.

The travel lane coming from the State Route 184, Gold Star Highway, on-ramp will merge into the thru-lanes at the east approach to the Gold Star Bridge. The roadway pavement markings will be reconfigured to delineate three lanes of traffic across the bridge.

The work zone will be separated from the roadway with a temporary concrete barrier curb.

All entrance and exit ramps will remain open during the construction. Please be aware that additional lane closures may be implemented during off-peak hours.

Please use caution when driving in this vicinity.
