Senator Kissel Releases Statement on the Passing of Councilman William “Red” Edgar Jr.

HARTFORD, Conn. – State Senator John A. Kissel (R-Enfield) released the following statement regarding the passing of longtime Enfield Town Councilman William “Red” Edgar Jr. Edgar served on the Enfield Town Council for close to 20 years and served as the minority leader since 2013. He also served for over 20 years as a National Service Officer for AmVets, a national military veterans organization.

“I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Red, I was good friends with his late wife Tina, and enjoyed working with Red over the years in public service.” said Sen. Kissel. “Red lived in Enfield his entire life and was a tireless advocate for veterans. Time and time again Red stood up for what was best for the residents of Enfield and he will be missed dearly by many. He leaves behind a wonderful family, many friends and a legacy of public service. My thoughts and prayers go out to Red’s family during this difficult time.”
