Hartford – Senate Republican President Pro Tempore Len Fasano (R-North Haven) and State Representative Dave Yaccarino (R-North Haven) released the following statement regarding the passing of former State Representative and North Haven Second Selectman Howard Luppi. A member of the state’s Veterans Hall of Fame, Howard served in World War II and received a Bronze Start and Purple Heart for his service during the Battle of the Bulge. He served as a state Representative for the 88th District of the House of Representatives from 1980 to 1990. In North Haven, Luppi served as second selectman, assistant town treasurer and member of Finance Board. He also served as vice commander of American Legion Post #76.

“Howard Luppi was a national hero and local leader who dedicated his life to protecting people and supporting our community. Locally, Howard was a tireless advocate for the people of North Haven. He served our community with compassion and unfettered dedication. He was also an honored veteran who bravely served our country and acted with valor and courage when facing great danger – all to protect our nation, our citizens and our way of life. Throughout his lifetime of service, his presence commanded respect and inspired those around him to strive to be better. We both looked up to Howard as a local and state leader who gave all of himself to our community. Howard will be sorely missed by all those who worked with him, respected him and loved him. We offer our deepest condolences to Howard’s family and friends.”
