Long Awaited Resolution to Tainted Tylerville Wells

June 23, 2017

After too many years, the state has produced a plan to permanently resolve the issue of contaminated water wells in the Tylerville session of Haddam. The proposal includes running an eight-inch diameter water main extension from the Connecticut Water Company’s endpoint in Chester along Route 154 to Tylerville Village. A video of the press conference about this plan is below.

The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection is accepting written comments on the plan through July 11, 2017. I encourage you to review a project PowerPoint and the documents on the DEEP website and submit any comments you have about the project.

This is great progress for Tylerville and I look forward to the project’s completion when people will not have to be concerned about the water coming out of their taps.
