Senator Linares to Participate in 4th Annual Women-Owned Business Day at the Capitol

May 1, 2017

State Senator Art Linares (R-33) today said he is looking forward to the 4th Annual Women-Owned Business Day at the state Capitol on Wednesday. He encouraged businesswomen throughout the state to attend the event in Hartford.

“Women are an important economic driver in Connecticut,” Sen. Linares said. “Businesses owned by women are responsible for $15 million in annual revenue in the state. It’s important that lawmakers hear first-hand how the policy and financial decisions we make in Hartford impact them.”

Women-Owned Business Day on May 3 provides business owners the opportunity to learn about microloans for entrepreneurs, meet national thought leaders, and network with other business women.

“I hope that the 33rd Senatorial District is well-represented,” Sen. Linares said. “I look forward to meeting with these business leaders and hearing what we can do to help them succeed and grow in our state. We need to do everything we can to promote their economic growth.”

Sen. Linares represents the communities of Chester, Clinton, Colchester, Deep River, East Haddam, East Hampton, Essex, Haddam, Lyme, Old Saybrook, Portland and Westbrook.
