Simsbury High School Students Meet with Sen. Witkos for a Capitol Update

Simsbury – On May 22 Simsbury High School’s AP Seminar class met with State Senator Kevin Witkos (R-Canton) to discuss what’s happening at the state Capitol this legislative session. The students discussed the Connecticut budget, legislative process and the responsibilities of state lawmakers in Connecticut. Sen. Witkos also explained how students can get involved with what’s happening at the state Capitol and stay engaged with state government. The AP Seminar class is a civics course that engages students in cross-curricular conversations that explore the complexities of real-world topics and themes by analyzing divergent perspectives.
