Tell Legislators: Don’t Tax Our Future

April 11, 2017

Today the General Assembly will hear testimony about HB 7313, An Act Imposing A Surcharge On Income Derived From Investment Management Services. This tax would make it more expensive for anyone who wants to invest money for retirement, a child’s education, or even just to have some money for a rainy day.

Democrats are calling this the “hedge fund” tax, but the people who will be hurt the most are middle and lower income individuals trying to invest for a better future. The 19 percent surtax on investment managers’ income simply will be passed on to you in the form of higher fees.

You can help me defeat this tax on our future by sending testimony to the Finance, Revenue & Bonding Committee. Send an email to [email protected] and write “Vote No on HB 7313” in the subject line. You message can be as long or short as you like.

It’s time to tell Democrats that Connecticut cannot tax its way out of its budget problems. We already are taxed too much.
