WHY: To advocate in support of Senate Bill 877 An Act Authorizing Pregnancy as a Qualifying Event for Special Enrollment Periods. This bill would make pregnancy a qualifying life event so that expectant mothers could enroll in health insurance outside of the yearly open enrollment period when they find out they are pregnant, instead of having to wait until their child is born to become insured.
