HARTFORD – State Representatives Whit Betts (R-78), Cara Pavalock-D’Amato (R-77), and William A. Petit, Jr. (R-22) and State Senator Henri Martin (R-31) recently met with administrators, officials, and staff from hospitals across the state, including Bristol Hospital, during Connecticut Hospital Day at the State Capitol. The group lobbied against the governor’s budget proposals regarding hospital funding which would allow municipalities to tax non-profit hospitals, as well as a reduction in grants. Hospital officials expressed concern regarding the fiscal impact such policies would have on their ability to deliver services and care for residents. The lawmakers reiterated their support for Bristol Hospital, as it plays a major role in the community, both economically and in supporting community health.
