Sen. McLachlan Welcomes Danbury Key Club to Capitol

State Senator Michael McLachlan (R-22) Wednesday welcome more than 40 members of the Danbury High School Key Club to the state capitol.

McLachlan 2017-03-08 Danbury Key Club (11 of 14)“It was a pleasure to meet these bright, young students and have them tour our state capitol buildings,” Sen. McLachlan said. “They asked me some really tough questions about the state budget and the legislative process, and they were really engaged in learning about what we do here and how it impacts their lives. With young people like these, I am confident the future of the state and our country will be in good hand.”

 

Key Club International is a youth off-shoot of the service organization Kiwanis International. Lead by its student members, Key Club provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership.

Sen. McLachlan was a member of the Danbury High School Key Club in his youth and is a member of Kiwanis International. He was awarded the Kiwanis Distinguished President Award in 2001 following his tenure as president of the Kiwanis Club of Danbury.

Sen. McLachlan represents the communities of Bethel, Danbury, New Fairfield, and Sherman.
