State Senator Craig Miner Votes against Malloy’s Pension Deal

February 2, 2017

Hartford-State Senator Craig Miner (R-Litchfield) today voted against Governor Malloy’s pension restructuring deal.

“I voted against this refinance package because it continues the troubling pattern of saddling future generations with the burdens of today,” said Senator Miner. “My vote was not a way of saying nothing should be done—just the opposite. Much more has to be changed if the state is to get its finances, including pension stability, under control.

“We owe state employees a stable retirement plan that Connecticut taxpayers can afford,” continued Senator Miner. “I look forward to continuing conversations as the budget process moves forward, pensions included.”
