Republican Senators Chair and Vice-Chair Committee on Children for First Time in Committee History

HARTFORD, Conn. – On Thursday, January 19, Senator Len Suzio (R-Meriden) and Senator John A. Kissel (R-Enfield), represented the Senate Republican Caucus as the first two GOP members to Chair and Vice-Chair a meeting of the Committee on Children.

“I am very excited to step into this new role as the Co-Chair of the Committee on Children,” said Sen. Suzio. “I look forward to a productive session and working across the aisle to do what is best for Connecticut children and families.”

State Senator Len Suzio is serving his second term in the Connecticut State Senate and currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Committee on Children. Sen. Suzio represents the communities of Cheshire, Meriden, Middlefield, Middletown and Rockfall.

“Yesterday we had a meeting of the Committee on Children,” said Sen. Kissel. “I think this new balance of power at the capitol will allow us to really roll up our sleeves and work together to make Connecticut a place where all children can prosper.”

State Senator John A. Kissel is currently serving his 13th term in the Connecticut State Senate and serves as the Vice-Chair of the Committee on Children. Sen. Kissel represents the towns of East Granby, Enfield, Somers, Suffield, Windsor Locks and portions of Granby and Windsor.
