Senator Kissel Encourages Hit-and-Run Perpetrator to Come Forward

December 2, 2016

ENFIELD, CONN. – State Senator John A. Kissel (R-Enfield) today released the following statement following the death of a young skateboarder in Enfield after a hit-and-run accident early this morning.

“I am deeply saddened to hear the news of another fatal hit-and-run accident in Enfield,” said Sen. John A. Kissel. “This is why we have worked so hard to raise the penalty for offenders of hit-and-run accidents who flee the scene. I hope that the perpetrator comes forward so that the family can find some closure in the expedience of justice. I respectully offer my deepest condolences to the family in their time of grief.”

Sen. John A. Kissel proposed and won passage of a bill in the 2016 legislative session which increases the penalty for people who seriously injure or a kill a person with a motor vehicle and then flee the scene (Senate Bill 346.)
