A Message of Thanks

November 23, 2016

Entering this season of Thanksgiving, I am reminded of just how fortunate I am. I am thankful to be sharing this holiday with my loving family and beautiful grandchildren who give me such hope for the future of our state and country.

happy-thanksgiving-imagesI am blessed with friends and colleagues who bring so much to my life.

I am thankful for all the people working in our communities – whether as professionals, volunteers, or elected officials – who truly are trying to provide us with the best quality of life possible. They may not always hear the words “Thank you” for their efforts, but I hope they know that they are appreciated. This includes our first responders who put their lives on the line every day and may not be spending the holiday with their loved ones because they are keeping us safe on this day of thanksgiving.

Our active military servicemembers, veterans, and their families deserve so much of our gratitude for the sacrifices they have and will continue to make to defend our country. I pray these brave men and women return to our shores safely and receive the respect, thanks, and support they deserve. Please hold those families who have suffered the loss of loved ones in service to our country in your hearts and prayers.

We live in the greatest country on earth, and I am so very proud and thankful to be an American.

May God continue to bless Connecticut and the United States.

From the Boucher family to yours: Happy Thanksgiving!
