Malloy Hides

October 27, 2016

I told you earlier this week that Republicans would be holding an informational hearing to find out why the Malloy Administration has been telling state agencies to prepare for massive post-election cuts while downplaying the state budget hole to you, the taxpaying public.

Wednesday, Republicans invited officials from the Malloy Administration and the Comptroller’s office to explain themselves and they didn’t even show up.

Luckily, members from the legislature’s non-partisan budget office felt this topic was important and answered our questions.

The analysts confirmed that the state is facing a budget shortfall of at least $77 million for just the first quarter.
The state is in big trouble.

The Hartford Business Journal just wrote an editorial on the subject. You can read that here.

We must end this seemingly endless cycle of deficits and tax hikes.
