Port Pride in New London

NEW LONDON: Rep. Devin Carney and Sen. Paul Formica joined with the governor, area lawmakers and transportation advocates to recognize the early achievements of the recently-created Connecticut Port Authority at a July 7 ceremony at the State Pier. The legislators said the transfer of the State Pier from the Connecticut Department of Transportation to the Connecticut Port Authority will produce great opportunities for the city. They noted that more vibrant ports in New London and throughout Connecticut will boost jobs and tourism locally and regionally. Carney represents Old Lyme, Old Saybrook and Westbrook. Formica represents Bozrah, East Lyme, a portion of Montville, New London, Old Lyme, a portion of Old Saybrook, Salem, and Waterford.
