Regarding your editorial “Connecticut’s Hedge-Fund Bribe” (June 2): Connecticut’s failed tax-hiking, union-coddling strategy serves as a cautionary tale.

For the past 20 years, state employee union contracts have taken effect automatically, without any votes from the unaccountable Democratic-led legislature.

Today, our deep-blue state’s economic strategy is to bribe a multibillionaire-run hedge fund with “please don’t go” taxpayer dollars.

Meanwhile, vital state services are cut for mentally and developmentally disabled individuals, schools, seniors and children. Even higher taxes, including the infamous Yale University tax, are on the horizon.
