Sen. Linares, Rep. Ziobron Applaud Passage of Bashan Lake Legislation

Sen. Art Linares and Rep. Melissa Ziobron are applauding the passage of a new state law which transfers the control and monitoring of Bashan Lake’s water level from the state to the Town of East Haddam.
The new law, which is effective immediately, allows East Haddam and the Bashan Lake Association to control the lake’s drawdown in a timely manner in the fall.
Linares and Ziobron, who co-sponsored the bill and worked tirelessly to see its passage, thanked East Haddam residents and the Bashan Lake Association’s taxpayers for their advocacy on the new policy.
The lawmakers worked effectively in a bipartisan manner with the legislature’s co-chairs of the Environment Committee and said the new law will do what’s best for the lake over the long-term.
