DMV Experiences Computer Problems Causing 3 and 4 Hour Delays Over Weekend

June 6, 2016

Hartford- Senator Toni Boucher released the following statement regarding the continuing computer problems at the Department of Motor Vehicles over the weekend (June 4th) that led to 3 and 4 hour wait times throughout the state.

“These problems should not be occurring at the DMV. The software developer must be held accountable. The Governor needs to step in and figure out why serious delays are still happening at one of the most important state agencies. It also points to why a new voter online software system should not be pursued by the DMV until all of these problems are resolved first. The DMV needs to be able to focus on getting its house in order rather than a two year software rollout for a new voter registration system. Our residents cannot keep getting the short end of the stick.”
