AARP Cones for Caregivers–Free Ice Cream Event in Simsbury
June 15, 2016AARP Event Coming to Simsbury – Celebrate Caregivers & Summer with a Free Cone!
AARP Connecticut will be hosting a “cone for caregivers” on Tuesday, June 28, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Simsbury’s Tulmeadow Farm, located at 255 Farms Village Rd. The event is held to recognize the tremendous and invaluable dedication of family caregivers. Free ice cream cones will be available to the first 100 people who Cones picstop by.
The offer is available to all ages and no AARP membership or caregiving role is required. Members should bring their AARP card to ensure they continue to receive information on more great offers in the future.
There are 459,000 family caregivers in Connecticut who help their adult loved ones live independently, saving taxpayer dollars by keeping them out of more costly nursing homes. Those caregivers provide 427 million hours our unpaid care annually, valued at $5.9 billion dollars.
