Sen. Michael McLachlan is urging the Connecticut Secretary of the State to address questions raised by a security matter involving the state’s voter registration website.

“My phone security software prevented me from proceeding to your site,” Sen. McLachlan wrote May 11 to the Secretary of the State. “I urge you to conduct an expedited and thorough security review of the website. What is the issue, how will it be corrected and when, and how can security issues be prevented in the future? Please follow up by sending a detailed report to the public summarizing the status of your investigation.”

Sen. McLachlan is the Ranking Senator on the legislature’s Government Administration and Elections Committee. He attached a screenshot (attached) along with his letter to the Secretary of the State.

“Connecticut voters need to be made aware of the problem, how they can protect themselves, and what is being done to remedy the problem,” Sen. McLachlan added. “I hope this is viewed as a top priority by your office.”
