State Senator John A. Kissel Votes in Favor of the 2016 Deficit Mitigation Plan

March 29, 2016

Hartford-State Senator John A. Kissel (R-Enfield) today voted in favor of a deficit mitigation plan which closes the Fiscal Year 2016 state budget shortfall of $220 million.

“This budget fix was the result of negotiations between Republicans, Democrats, and the Governor’s office. This is a case of people putting aside political differences to do what is best for the people of Connecticut,” said Senator John A. Kissel. “The deficit mitigation plan makes the appropriate cuts to balance this year’s budget while restoring funding to hospitals, protecting municipal aid, and preserving funding to vital social services.”
