Columnist Jeff Jacobs hit a grand slam when he said not a dime of state taxpayer money should go toward the Hartford baseball stadium “debacle” [Jan. 9, Sports, “Yard Goats Owner Solomon Doesn’t Hold Back”].
Republicans in the state Senate agree, and we’ll be watching closely to see if Democrat-sponsored tax-and-borrow schemes re-emerge this year at the Capitol to divert state dollars to the stadium’s spiraling costs.
With two record tax hikes in five years, haven’t Connecticut taxpayers been squeezed enough?
