Legislators Want to Better Protect CT Land

Sen. Paul Formica, Sen. Art Linares and Sen. Kevin Witkos on Jan. 13 joined with environmental advocates to unveil a constitutional amendment proposal to better protect forest land, parks, wildlife areas and other open space in Connecticut. The legislators’ proposal would implement strengthened restrictions on the sale of preserved land. The legislative session begins in February.

Formica represents Bozrah, East Lyme, a portion of Montville, New London, Old Lyme, a portion of Old Saybrook, Salem, and Waterford.

Linares represents Chester, Clinton, Colchester, Deep River, East Haddam, East Hampton, Essex, Haddam, Lyme, Old Saybrook, Portland and Westbrook.

Witkos represents Avon, Barkhamsted, Canton, Colebrook, Granby, Hartland, Harwinton, New Hartford, Norfolk, Simsbury, and Torrington.
